CNG (compressed natural gas) or LNG (liquefied natural gas) is a fuel made from natural gas that emits about 20 percent less CO₂ than fossil diesel or petrol.

But it can be even greener: Bio-CNG or bio-LNG from biomethane emits 90 percent less CO₂ than conventional fuels, and is produced from waste and residue materials.
