Münzer has taken another major step forward by its acquisition of a majority stake in Carinthia-based AGRA Entsorgungs GmbH. “The expansion of our collection activities in Austria's southernmost province is a key step in safeguarding supplies of raw materials. We are thereby turning another white spot on the map green, and are now operating waste recycling services from the Black Sea to the Adriatic,” Divisional Manager, Catering Trade Service Michael Buxbaum declares, with a little wink.

AGRA Entsorgungs GmbH is a prominent waste management company specialising in the disposal and recycling of food waste, including used cooking oil and fat, in the province of Carinthia.

As such, we already have a very close long-standing partnership with what is, like us, an owner-managed business.

“We are delighted that we have been able to deepen this partnership with our Carinthian friends by acquiring a majority stake in this traditional company,” comments Michael Buxbaum.

From the Black Sea to the Adriatic
Our growth strategy has for some years entailed investing in, and in some instances taking over, partners with whom we have been working closely for years. And not just in neighbouring countries, but within Austria too.

Through this step, we have secured further significant quantities of waste raw materials – used cooking oil, as well as food waste – which will allow us to continue on our path following our motto “From waste to energy”.

“It's terrific that we are stretching a green belt across Europe, from the Netherlands via Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Romania, to Bulgaria,” says Münzer co-Managing Director Gregor Reindl.
