For us, used cooking oil (UCO) is more than just waste - it is a valuable resource for generating energy. We will collect the used cooking oil (UCO) that accumulates in your household and recycle it into high-grade BioDiesel. With our uncomplicated service for collecting used cooking oil (UCO), you too can help to keep the sewage system clean and protect the environment at the same time.

Are you still pouring used cooking oil (UCO) down your drain and then getting annoyed about blockages? Every household produces used cooking oil (UCO), even if it is sometimes just small quantities that we don't even think about. They make all the difference however. Because used cooking oil (UCO) is often troublesome when disposed of improperly, but when re-used correctly it can be turned into sustainable BioDiesel.

The collected UCO is transported to one of our BioDiesel plants at the Lobau oil terminal in Vienna and in Gaishorn am See, where it is treated and subsequently processed into high-grade, ecologically sustainable BioDiesel.

How to collect used cooking oil properly

Proper used cooking oil collection

Step 1

Empty plastic oil bottles or cooking oil canisters are best suited for collecting used cooking oil (UCO). No glass please!

Household collection – pouring into new container

Step 2

Allow the used cooking oil (UCO) to cool and pour it into the empty plastic bottle or tin canister.

Step 3

Close the full bottle tightly and throw it into the nearest Münzer Box in your neighbourhood. The diameter of the opening is 19 cm.

What is the Münzer Box?

The Münzer Box is a container specially developed by Münzer for the safe and clean disposal of used cooking oil. The clever and practical design includes a 19 cm diameter opening through which bottles can be thrown down a pipe into the container inside. A leak-proof base prevents oil and fat from escaping. The Münzer Boxes also have a sensor that monitors the fill level and ensures that full containers are collected promptly.

What happens to the collected used cooking oil (UCO)?

The Münzer Boxes are reliably emptied by our in-house logistics and collection fleet. Only cleaned and emptied bins are left in each neighbourhood.

The waste cooking oil collected is then transported directly to one of the company's BioDiesel plants at the Lobau oil terminal in Vienna and in Gaishorn am See in Styria, where it is treated and subsequently processed into high-grade, ecologically sustainable biodiesel. We should stress that we strictly avoid the use of palm oil in our biodiesel production!
