For the third year now, the Styrian People's Party has awarded its prize recognising companies and projects around the region for their commitment to Styria – and this time around Münzer Bioindustrie is for the first time among them. This year's “Land of Talents” campaign is focused particularly on businesses that are making a major contribution to protecting the climate.

The latest “Land of Talents” round also saw Provincial Councillor for Economic Affairs Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, District Party Chair, and Member of Austria’s National Council Mayor Christoph Stark, as well as Andreas Schlemmer and Vinzenz Harrer from the Chamber of Commerce, touring the Münzer headquarters site in Sinabelkirchen. Ewald-Marco Münzer told the official delegation about our company, focussing on our regional activities in Styria and our importance in terms of climate control for Austria.

As Ewald-Marco Münzer underlines, we do after all have very strong roots in the region: “Despite our steady expansion on the international stage, our identity as a regional family business is not merely something we publicise, but a clear commitment to the province of Styria.”

By collecting used cooking oil and processing it to produce biodiesel, we are also making an important contribution to protecting our climate. Every kilogramme of used cooking oil produces one kilogramme of biodiesel, which in turn saves three kilogrammes of CO2 compared to the use of conventional fossil fuels. Ewald-Marco Münzer received the “Land of Talents” award on behalf of his company in recognition of its accomplishments in maximising energy recovery from fatty liquid waste.
