First used cooking oil collection site in Lower Saxony
- New federal state: Start of used cooking oil collection in Lower Saxony with first location in Stadthagen.
- New partnership: Collaboration with property management company Sarah Pilhofer as an innovative approach.
- Promoting sustainability: Collected fat is processed into environmentally friendly biodiesel.
Münzer Deutschland, one of the leading providers for the collection and processing of used cooking oil, is further expanding its collection system and is now also active in Lower Saxony. In co-operation with the property management company Sarah Pilhofer, two collection boxes have been set up in Stadthagen. These are located on the grounds of the Ludwig Fresenius School and offer local people a simple and sustainable way to dispose of cooking fats. The company is thus continuing its expansion in Germany and entering a third federal state after Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia.
’With the launch in Lower Saxony, we are taking another important step towards establishing our tried-and-tested collection system throughout Germany. The cooperation with the property management company Sarah Pilhofer also shows that we are flexibly breaking new ground in order to make sustainable disposal accessible to even more people,’ emphasises Ewald-Marco Münzer, Managing Director of Münzer Deutschland GmbH.
Sarah Pilhofer, Managing Director of the property management company, also welcomes the cooperation: ‘It was important for us to offer the people of Stadthagen a simple and sensible way to dispose of cooking fats. With the collection boxes from Münzer, we are not only contributing to a clean solution on site, but also making a contribution to greater sustainability.’
The used cooking oil collected is processed by Münzer into biodiesel, which produces up to 93% less CO₂ emissions than fossil diesel. The innovative collection system also protects the municipal sewage system from blockages and actively contributes to climate protection.
Further collection boxes planned
Münzer Deutschland is also planning to further expand the collection in Lower Saxony and set up additional collection boxes in other cities and municipalities. ‘The aim is to make the sustainable disposal of used cooking oil accessible throughout the region and thus make a decisive contribution to the circular economy,’ says Münzer.
